Chinese Checkers Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 14, 2026

Download JumpStar on the App Store

Chinese Checkers works offline without an account. Optional friend-play features use limited data to create private games, show Game Center friends, and deliver turn and invite notifications. The app does not sell personal data, serve advertising, or track you across apps or websites.

Data Collection

If you use private online games, the app processes a display name, private game state and moves, randomly generated player credentials, and invite codes. Player credentials are stored on the server only as keyed hashes.

If you grant Game Center friend-list access, the returned friend list stays on your device. To deliver a private-game invitation without opening Messages, the app sends an Apple-signed identity proof and the selected players’ team-scoped Game Center identifiers to its server. The identifiers are stored only as keyed hashes and are not used for advertising, tracking, or public profiles. The app does not upload your full friend list or request Contacts access.

If you enable notifications, the app stores your Apple Push Notification device token in encrypted form. Game Center notification registrations expire after 90 days.

Anonymous Aggregate Usage

Chinese Checkers collects anonymous aggregate feature counts to understand whether major product experiences work. Reports may include the app version and build, iOS major and minor version, broad device family such as phone or tablet, and aggregate counts for major features such as daily active or playing installations, games started or completed, game outcomes and coarse move-count ranges, puzzles solved, online-tab opens, friend-search outcomes, and private invites created or joined. Daily installation counts are deduplicated on the device before upload; no installation identifier is sent.

Reports never include a persistent analytics identifier, advertising identifier, name, contact value, invite code, notification token, message content, board position, move history, or saved replay. A network address is processed only long enough to enforce short-lived abuse limits and is not stored with analytics reports.

Anonymous aggregate usage is enabled by default and can be disabled in Settings. Disabling it clears unsent aggregate counts and stops new usage reports.

Offline Play

JumpStar includes its AI model and inference engine in the app bundle. Gameplay against JumpStar runs on device. The app does not require an account or a network connection for play.

Local Data

Game preferences, ratings, puzzle progress, and saved offline replays remain on your device. Private-game credentials and locally remembered friend contact details are protected in the iOS Keychain and are not included in ordinary device backups.

Retention and Controls

Unaccepted invites expire after 7 days. Active private games expire after 90 days. Completed games are retained for 30 days, and cancelled games for 7 days. Game Center notification registrations expire after 90 days. Anonymous daily feature totals are retained for up to 400 days.

You can revoke Game Center friend-list access or notification permission in iOS settings. Cancelling a game closes it for both players; invalid or unregistered notification tokens are removed automatically.

Service Providers

Chinese Checkers uses infrastructure providers to operate encrypted network transport, short-lived private-game storage, anonymous aggregate storage, and Apple Push Notification delivery. These providers process data only to operate these features.

Tracking and Advertising

Chinese Checkers does not track you across apps or websites and does not include third-party advertising SDKs.

Children

Chinese Checkers is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. Game Center friend discovery is optional and follows the player’s Game Center privacy settings.
