Why I built it
The Chinese Checkers AI I built for my mom
My mom loves Chinese Checkers. Growing up, our family would play together for hours. But when my brother and I left for college, my mom had no one to play against. She tried to find a good website or iPhone app, but none of the computer opponents were fun or strong enough.
The desire to build my mom a worthy opponent grew into JumpStar, the world's strongest open, verifiable Chinese Checkers AI engine for classic and multiplayer play, with results published in the public CCERL benchmark. My mom has been playing every day, and this project has rekindled our joy of the game. I hope you find it enriching too!

Can I play Chinese Checkers online with friends?
Yes, in the free iPhone app. Send a friend an invite code and take turns from anywhere. In the browser, you play against JumpStar.
How many people can play?
Chinese Checkers is played with 2, 3, 4, or 6 players. JumpStar supports every one, filling the other seats with AI players.
How strong is the AI?
Choose Beginner, Clever, or Expert. Expert is the strongest JumpStar setting in the browser, and its results are published in the public CCERL benchmark.
